I am part of the french XT forum, and i would like to say our sadness in our community.
Just inform (if you don't know) that the Boss of Yamaha Motor-France, the father of the 500 XT in Europe is dead.
The great man of the motorcycle, Pionner of the africans raids and the Dakar is by driving his car falling on accident on the highway in Paris.
The funerals of Monsieur Jean-Claude Olivier (alias JCO) will take place Thursday 17 Janury 2013 at 10 am at the Cathédrale Saint-Louis de Versailles, 4 place Saint-Louis – 78000 Versailles (Paris-France).

Yes, we all have received this sad news!
It is strange that someone a motorcycle at the limit runs his whole life and then dies in a car!
A friend of mine met Jean Claude personally, He is very sad that Jean-Claude is dead!
He says that Jean Claude was a fine man, always nice and polite!
Our thoughts are with the family!

Hello Hardy, und all the frends of the xt in Germany.
A big truck that crossed the center lane of the high way (autobahn A1).
He had no chance by front to escape this.
His daughter, who was with him, comes out unscathed.
Out JCO, we do not probably drive xt500 today, it was his gamble.
Here also many testimonies of people who knew or crossed him.

Ich habe grade gesehen auf der frz forum und ich weiss so wieso nicht wie man einen photo hier uploaden kann - Genial!
Aber wehr besetz 120 500xt + den helm Dakar-87 von der meister?
Das foto ist von Hubert Rigal übrings.
Schönen bild, der von vor wachnacht ist.
Könnte allerdings eine der letze bild von JCO sein.
