A question regarding E/bay

Greeting to everyone in Germany.
Would somebody be so kind as to explain, why PalPal isn't accepted in your country?
Just that over in England, XT500 spares are very hard to find.
So E/bay seems to eveyones most popular option.
I am also amazed to the amount of spare parts offered from your country.
I can only pressume that the XT500 was very popular over there?
But every seller that lifes in Germany, and selling items on E/bay.
Will only accept a wire transfer.
May i be so rude to please ask why?
The total cost of a wire transfer from England to Germany costs £25.00p
Which is very very expensive.
Just wondering.
Dave.

Hello nightcruiser,
wire transfer is very easy in Germany, that's why it is so popular. Therefor other systems for money transport, like PayPal, are not necessary. I have used Paypal for some deals with guys from the united states and my experience is very good.
Here in Germany are enough crazy people which pay a lot of money for old XT parts, so that the seller could get an excellent price without foreign bidders. I think your only chance is asking.
Regards from Germany

hi, i am using paypal since 1997 and i love it.
ALL my auctions (mostly CDs, rarely XT500 parts) offer paypal payment as i sell mostly worldwide. here inside germany, paypal is not common as banktransfer is easy and less expensive than paypal.
paypal takes 4% of the total sum!!!

another question of one of the stupid high-price-paying german guys sitting in Switzerland

what the hell is paypal? How does it work?
Dave - may be you can also buy spare parts, îf available from
www.kedo.de or you can even make a posting on this page in "Anzeigen"?
Regards,
Uwe

PayPal is a web based payment system. In short, you have to register there (with your credit card number), and then transfer money to other paypal members vwithout ever giving your credit card number away.
It is popular with e.g. US and Australia, but not that much in Europe, as bank transfers in the Euro zone are dead cheap now.
Everybody with a valid credit card can register at paypal, so also every person or company selling at ebay.de could do that. It is just a little extra hassle, and paypal does take some money for their service (for every transaction) from the money recipient.
I used it some times, no probs, easy, and safe.
See
http://www.paypal.de/ or
http://www.paypal.com/ fpr your reference.
Cheers
